EU GREEN Webinar: "Food and Conscious Consumption"
MED and Working Package 5 of the EU GREEN Alliance will organize a webinar to explore sustainable practices in food consumption. The event will take place on December 3, 2024, at 9:00 AM (Portugal time) / 10:00 AM CET, bringing together experts from across the alliance to discuss urgent challenges and innovative solutions in the field.
Aligned with the European Commission’s “Farm to Fork” Strategy and the European Green Deal, this webinar will explore the intersection of sustainable food production, consumption, and our dietary choices’ environmental and societal impacts. The event aims to bridge research insights with community engagement, featuring expert presentations and stakeholder contributions.
The first session will be led by Maria Raquel Lucas, a researcher at MED and a professor at the University of Évora, with the presentation “Food and Conscious Consumption.” This session will explore the relationship between eating habits, sustainability, and conscious consumption, covering topics such as food waste, sustainable practices, and the role of consumers in building a fairer food system.
