About
PhD in Forest Science from the Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil (2018), with international mobility at the University of New South Wales, Australia, and Tongji University, Shanghai, China. Both degrees have been recognised in Portugal by the University of Évora. She also holds a Master's degree in Forest Science (UFV, 2014) and a Bachelor's degree in Forest Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil (2012).
Her research focuses on two complementary areas: forest science, encompassing forest inventory, land use and land cover mapping, biomass and carbon estimation, and ecosystem services; and maritime sustainability, including shipping pattern analysis and pollutant emission monitoring using satellite data. She has demonstrated expertise in processing satellite imagery (Sentinel-2, Sentinel-5P, WorldView) using tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, SNAP, Google Earth Engine, and machine learning algorithms, applied to Mediterranean and tropical forest ecosystems.
She has been involved in several funded research projects, including CILIFO (Iberian Center for Forest Fire Research), SAFEFOREST, and the Agenda Mobilizadora Sines Nexus (PRR).Currently a Guest Auxiliary Researcher at the University of Évora within the Agenda Mobilizadora Sines Nexus (PRR), she is also a collaborator of the MED — Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development and CHANGE — Global Change and Sustainability Institute, and a member of the Ibero-American Network on Sustainable Urban Transport and Mobility (RITMUS/CYTED).
