I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Water Resources from the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI), and a PhD in Agrarian Microbiology from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), which included a sandwich period at the University of Algarve, Portugal. My expertise spans General, Environmental, and Soil Microbiology, as well as Biotechnology, with a particular focus on the selection and identification of microorganisms with potential agricultural applications. I have conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Agriculture at UFLA and have academic teaching experience as an Assistant Professor of Genetics and Molecular Biology at UNIFEI and as a Volunteer Professor of General Microbiology at UFLA. Currently, I am a researcher at MED – Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development, University of Évora. I am actively involved in the Montados Net-Zero Project – Innovation Networks to Increase Resilience and Progress Toward Carbon Neutrality in Southern Rural Areas.
