About

Elsa Lamy holds a PhD in Animal Science (2009-University of Evora) and a Master degree in Metabolic Diseases and Eating Behavior (2014 – Faculty of Medicine, University os Lisbon). Works in the biological determinants of eating behavior, with a particular focus on food oral perception and saliva biochemistry. She is particularly interested in understanding the basis of food acceptance and choices, particularly in the case of plant-based diets, focusing the role that salivary proteome may have in perception and acceptance. In the last years she has been involved in projects about sustainable food patterns, including  the European Knowledge Hub on Food Nutrition and Security (SYSTEMIC) and the European project HealthyW8 (Horizon-Europe). Is actual co-coordinator of the national hub of high school institutions for the promotion of Mediterranean Diet. Has experience in supervision of PhD, master and BSc students supervision. Associate editor in BMC Nutrition and Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism, E. Lamy is also co-author of 2 books, several book chapters and scientific articles in international indexed peer-reviewed journals [ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9370-1337]. At the moment, is the responsible for the Applied Animal Physiology Lab, from MED.
