I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Beira Interior (2015-2019) and a Master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Aveiro (2019-2021). I'm currently a PhD student in Biology at the University of Évora, focusing on the functional characterisation of parasitism-related genes in the pinewood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus. My research aims to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying PWN parasitism and the regulation of parasitism-related genes. This knowledge may contribute to the identification of novel molecular targets and the development of sustainable strategies to control pine wilt disease and improve resistance in forestry species.
