Flávio Daniel Gomes da Silva completed a PhD in Animal Science on July 3, 2025, at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro – School of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences. He holds a Master’s degree in Zootechnical Engineering (2016) and a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Technology (2013), both from the University of Évora – School of Science and Technology.

He is a Researcher at the Center for Animal and Veterinary Science (CECAV), a Researcher at the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED), University of Évora, and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Évora – School of Science and Technology. He is also the Portuguese translator of the EAAP Newsletter for the Portuguese Association of Animal Engineering (APEZ), a Senior Technician at the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary Affairs (DGAV) – Division of Animal Feed, and a Collaborator of the Revista Portuguesa de Zootecnia, under APEZ.

He has published 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals, authored 2 book chapters, organized 16 events, and participated in 43 events. He has co-supervised 3 Master’s theses, supervised 2 undergraduate final projects, and co-supervised 2. He participated as a PhD Fellow in 1 project, Research Fellow in 1 project, and held other roles in 6 projects.

His research focuses on Agricultural Sciences, with an emphasis on Animal and Dairy Science, particularly in Zootechnics and Dairy Science.
