About

I began my research activities in the field of digestive physiology, studying the effect of forage conservation methods on the digestion and growth of sheep. Next, I have studied the effects of introducing pulses and other forages based on pearl millet and sorghum in sheep diets. Later, I integrate the team oof the project “Fiber and Food Protein in Digestive Physiology and Lipid Metabolism of Monogastric Animals” where the ileal and fecal digestibility of the protein of several legumes were measured and its antigenic power and its effect on the gut and the intestinal mucosa were tested, as well as in the production of digestive enzymes. Meantime, the effect of the introduction of various legumes on cholesterol metabolism and on biliary and fecal excretion of cholesterol and its metabolites was tested.

Following these projects, given the relationship between atopic dermatitis in dogs, food allergies and the digestion of some proteins, I have lately been part of teams that intend to study this relationship.
