Projeto WARM | Seminário Sustainable Waste Management

One of the main aim of the WARM project (Waste Reduction and Management by Implementing Circular Economy in Western Africa) is to modernise, increase accessibility, and internationalise higher education in the fields of Solid Waste Management (SWM) and circular economy across the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region.

The Sustainable Waste Management seminar, which will take place on September 22, 2025, at the University of Évora – Colégio Luís António Verney, Amphitheater 1, open to the entire academic community, is part of a strategy by several universities to strengthen the capacity of African academic institutions in Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Sierra Leone in the field of GRS, through the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and the creation of synergies.

This event will bring together experts and key stakeholders in SWM who play a important role in waste collection, recycling and environmental technologies in Portugal (Alentejo region), Italy and Romania. Participants will engage in discussions on topics such as waste characterisation and recycling, waste management systems, and innovative waste treatment technologies.
