Doctor in Agricultural Engineering and Habilitation in Agriculture Sciences. Full Professor at the Agricultural Engineering Department, University of Évora. Current Immediate Past-President of the European Society of Agricultural Engineering (EurAgEng). Full member of MED research centre and former Vice-director of ICAAM. Teaching and research activities mainly related with environmental control in rural buildings (greenhouses and animal buildings), energy efficiency in agriculture and agro-industry, and circular economy.  Author/co-author of more than 50 papers in peer reviewed journals and more than 100 national and international other publications such as book chapters and conferences proceedings. Coordination and/or participation in several national and international research projects.
