MED joins CIHEAM Zaragoza’s international expert group for advanced course on Regenerative Agriculture
The MED is represented in the international expert group that contributed to the design of the advanced course “Regenerative Agriculture and Sustainable Soil Management: Building Climate Resilience and Food Security in the Mediterranean”, jointly promoted by CIHEAM Zaragoza and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA).
Professor Gottlieb Basch, researcher at MED and the University of Évora, participated in the development of the training programme and is part of the international team of invited lecturers. The course will take place in Zaragoza (Spain), from 9 to 14 March 2026, and will bring together experts from leading academic institutions, research centres and international organisations.
This course, co-organised by CIHEAM – an intergovernmental organisation comprising 13 Mediterranean Member States – aims to train professionals, researchers and policymakers to address the challenges of the climate crisis by promoting regenerative and sustainable soil management practices that contribute to food security and agroecological resilience in the region.
MED’s involvement in this initiative enhances its international visibility and reinforces its active contribution to Mediterranean strategies for agricultural sustainability and innovation.
